Education aint never hurt nobody!

I get it; I know. There are thousands and thousands of wedding tips floating around the internet. I know.
I wanted to create a list from my own experience as both a bride and a wedding professional.

More specifically, I wanted to give my couples tips as they relate specially to planning their day with PHOTOGRAPHY in mind!
I've broken these down into segments as they relate to specific checkpoints in the planning process.

WHEN BOOKING A PHOTOGRAPHER:

  • Your hours of coverage will depend on travel involved in your day
  • Interview photographers for who they are, not just their work
  • It doesn’t matter if your photographer hasn’t been to your venue
  • Learn the photography styles and what you like
  • Pay attention to the photogs TAGGED feed, not just the curated feed
  • If it doesn’t feel right, it isn’t
  • Price isn’t everything
  • Ask to see real weddings galleries similar to your day
  • Find out how your photographer lights receptions
  • Let us know “no” if you're no longer interested

WHEN PLANNING YOUR WEDDING DAY
  • Choose a getting ready space with windows
  • Make sure you get a large enough getting ready space for everyone to be comfy
  • Include your Photographer in your timeline building
  • Consider an unplugged ceremony
  • Keep in contact with your photographer before the wedding month
ON YOUR WEDDING DAY
  • Clue your photographer into key details
  • A “basic shot list” isn’t necessary
  • Your photographer is your third wheel
  • Clue your photographer into family drama: avoid awkward family photos
  • Know your family photos will likely be a stressful part of the day
  • If you must get a spray tan, trial it
  • Trust your photographer's locations for photos
AFTER YOUR WEDDING DAY
  • Let your photographer know you received the gallery/images
  • Leave a review for your photographer on their preferred sites
  • Ask your photographer about all of your options for prints
