intimate church wedding with Mexican traditions and Chicago portraits

The sweetest day with the sweetest getaway!
Santi and Alicia are high school sweethearts! The time finally came for them to say "I DO!" and it just so happened to be the hottest day of the year thus far!

Due to COVID, these two decided to push their big party to next year, but still wanted to have their intimate ceremony and photos taken! So we headed to their local church for a service that included their Mexican traditions. Alicia even sang Ave Maria in honor of her Grandmother and WHEW; that girl can sing! I seriously had goosebumps and the entire church lit up in applause afterwards.

Santi surprised his wife with a getaway car, but before they could drive off into the city for photos, their wedding guests had an EPIC farewell for them outside of the church full of bubbles, noisemakers and hugs! It was truly such a celebration of love for these two!

We headed downtown to take some portraits of the two of them, but LORD IT WAS HOT. I felt so bad for them because the sweat was a drippin. We had to make a pit stop on Michigan Ave. for some shaken lemonades and Chicago hot dogs, which ironically, Alicia mentioned to me that her parents did the very same thing on their wedding day! Serendipity at its finest.

I had the best time spending a few hours of the best day ever for the new Mr. and Mrs. Quiroga! I'm bummed I can't be there for their party next year, but I know that they are thrilled to finally be husband and wife!

Congratulations you two!
