No one could've seen a tropical storm post Hurricane Ian affecting Northern Virginia!
I had been looking forward to this wedding for a long time! Anytime I get to photograph in a new place, specifically a new state, I get giddy! There's just something so exciting and challenging about being plucked out of Chicago and dropped somewhere new. There's just so many opportunities to make something new!
Lauren and Alex are originally from the Chicago area, but currently reside in Washington D.C. They decided to have all of their Chicago family and friends come out to them and do a destination wedding in the mountains of Virginia! Castle Hill Cider was the perfect backdrop, nestled in woods and showing off a gorgeous exterior!
The only thing was; Hurricane Ian had just hit the southern coast and was headed our way with heavy rain and winds. We kept a close eye on the weather, but no matter what, the rain was coming. Well, as it turned out, that rain was more of a mist the entire day and we were able to capture images that showed off the property and the very view that they booked this venue for!
This day was the calmest, sweetest day for these two and I'm so thrilled to share these images!
