emerald green spring wedding at cafe brauer

The color, the animals, the PARTY!
I've been so excited to photograph this wedding since before it was even fully planned! Elizabeth has been following me since 2016. Yes. 2016! She was a bridesmaid in Jaclyn and Jeff's wedding way back then and she told me she has had her eye on me ever since! When Peter and Elizabeth's time came, a call came my way!

Elizabeth and Peter own Middlebury Farms, an organic vegetable farm in the suburbs of Chicago. In addition to growing produce, they also farm florals. SO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS! It means Elizabeth was very particular about florals and knew exactly what she wanted: COLOR! Can you hear the angels singing?

I was so so excited to get my hands (er...camera) on this wedding! The venue (Cafe Brauer) is the most beautiful historical backdrop and the green accents played right into Elizabeth's vision. She wanted to do things her way, so she took it upon herself to hand customize the escort display that then served as table decor. I'm talking about the gold animals. They were the coolest detail and so unique! I loved it and miiiiiight have over shot photos of them.

One of my favorite memories, though, was right after these two said "I Do!" Elizabeth's little cousin, also named Peter, was just way too excited for the happy couple that he had to give them a hug during their recessional. It was the sweetest moment and captured the pure joy that their loved ones have for them!

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Grubbe!
